Tests that can be performed by the referring physician and are required when patients are referred for liver transplantation.

  • AFP
    Alpha-fetoprotein

  • HIV Ab
    Human immunodeficiency virus antibody

  • EBV Ab
    Epstein-Barr virus antibody

  • CMV Ab
    Cytomegalovirus antibody

  • HBs Ag
    Hepatitis B surface antigen

  • HBc Ab
    Hepatitis B core antibody

  • HCV Ab
    Hepatitis C virus antibody

  • CXR
    Chest X-ray

  • EKG
    Electrocardiogram

  • ABG
    Arterial blood gases

  • Creatinine Clearance

  • Echocardiography if heart diseases is suspected

  • Liver ultrasound, Doppler of portal and hepatic veins

  • Colonoscopy in patients with colitis or if over age 50 years
