Srijani was admitted to the hospital. She was 19 years 7 months old when she underwent the liver transplantation which was performed under Dr Anand Khakhar and his team at Kolkata.

Srijani's mother donated 65% of her liver. Liver transplantation helped Srijani to recover and get her back to normality

She finished her graduation and is currently preparing for administration oriented examinations whilst pursuing a diploma in information technology.

The Diagnosis
Dnyanashree was approximately 2 months short of her 16th birthday when she was diagnosed with Jaundice by her doctors at Pune.

The need for Transplantation
Dnyanashree’s condition deteriorated drastically in the next 20 days and her doctor felt liver transplant was her only option. Her situation was critical, which led her doctors at the Pune Hospital to contact the Centre for Liver Disease and Transplantation.

Owing to her critical condition and the urgency for liver transplant Dnyanashree was airlifted to Chennai.
The surgeons of Centre for Liver Disease and Transplantation at Chennai performed the Cadaveric liver transplantation on March 20, 2013, Dhanyashree received a donor organ that gave her a chance at life again.

Now 19 year old Dnyanashree is pursuing her B.Com; living a happy and healthy life.

The Symptoms
Sumitra Naik’s story started nine years ago when she gave birth to a beautiful child. She started experiencing a strange set of symptoms including fever, stomach trouble such as loss of appetite, vomiting and belly pain, after three months of her delivery.

Identifying the Issue
She contacted our doctor and approached him for figuring out the root cause of these health difficulties. Sumitra was then diagnosed with Hepatitis B, a virus infecting the liver. Thoughts of fear related to this shadowed her senses and she lost her grips pondering about her breast feeding child.

Sumitra wanted to be sure that she had the best care possible which made her to approach the Centre for Liver Disease and Transplantation. Her sister-in-law promised to donate for transplantation.

Success and road to recovery
The surgeon removed the diseased liver and transplanted(Living Donar Transplant) the donated liver portion in the recipient's body and connected the blood vessels and bile ducts to the new liver. Today Sumitra is healthy and kicking her life testifying that she got the excellent care.
